Kids classes are 30 – 40 minutes long and focus on the gymnastic and metabolic conditioning elements of CrossFit as well as introducing some very light loading in uncomplicated movements where appropriate. Unlike adults, kids at this age do not build strength through loading, but rather through improved neural pathways – so we put a focus on getting moving and having fun, and begin to look at quality of movement. Unlike adult classes, we have a lifetime to get this movement right – so our primary focus each class is always on having fun.
Each class will have a skill section, but also a short WOD and, the most important part of the class, a Game as this builds a positive association between fitness and fun and keeps them interested to return for more.
Our Kids Classes run Tuesday and Thursday at 3:30 pm.
Teen classes are 60 minutes long and more closely follow the training methodology associated with adults. We will have a focus on learning new skills and on a positive environment. Kids at this age are ready to start looking at more complicated movements and when individuals are ready, moderate loading will be introduced.
Our Teen Classes run Tuesday, and Thursday at 4:15 pm.
Kids classes are charged depending on the number of sessions registered for. One class per week is $12, two classes $20.
Similarly, Teens classes one class per week is $12, two classes $24.
Classes are charged on an on-going basis – but this can be cancelled at any time with appropriate notice.
